Berg Family History
Berg Family History
This history of the Berg family written by Michael Kohnen details the immigration of the Bergs to Keokuk County from Germany along with the Horras, Peiffer, Blaise and Hammes families in 1847. I believe this Hammes family was most likely an earlier generation of the Michael Hammes Jr. family who came to Clear Creek in 1872 because they came from the same area of Germany. Fascinating reading.
