ACCIDENT CLAIMS LIFE OF 17 YEAR OLD BOY
An accident east of Sigourney, Iowa claimed the life of Ryan Meyer, 17, of Sigourney.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a passer-by discovered Meyer’s wrecked pickup on 260th Avenue, about 2 ½ miles south of Highway 92 on Saturday, March 4, 2000.
The actual time of the accident is unknown.
Investigators are unsure what caused the accident and further details are unknown at this time.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 7, 2000 in the Sigourney High School Gymnasium.

RYAN DANIEL MEYER, 17, DIES MARCH 4
Ryan Daniel Meyer, 17, of Sigourney, Iowa, died Saturday, March 4, 2000.
He was born October 26, 1982 in Iowa City, the son of Daniel and Essie Peiffer Meyer. He was a junior of Sigourney High School. He loved fishing, hunting, working on his Chevy pickup and anything to do with the farm.
He is survived by his parents; his grandmother, Elizabeth Conrad of Sigourney, Iowa and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his infant sisters Stephanie Kay and Tasha Dyan Meyer.
Funeral services were held March 7, 2000 at the Sigourney High School. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Casket bearers Casey Clarahan, Shawn Bird, Greg Hammes, Nathan Clarahan, Seth Hammes, Matt Waechter, Penny Hammes and Ben Hanson.
Arrangements were made by Holm Funeral Home.
