Shirley Himrod, C. C. Hammes Wed
SIGOURNEY: Shirley Himrod daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Himrod, and Charles C. Hammes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Constant Hammes, were married Monday at St. Peter and Paul’s church at Clear Creek.
The Rev. Paul Kleinfelder performed the ceremony before an alter decorated with Easter lilies and baskets of whie gladiolus and yellow snapdragons. Bernard Vogel of Clarence was soloist.
The bride wore a white satin gown with a senior train. Her fingertip veil was caught to a tiara of orange blossoms and she carried a bouquet of lilies and yellow roses.
Miss Jeanne Himrod, gowned in green taffetas, was maid of honor for her sister. Robert Hammes of Kansas City, brother of the bride-groom, was best man and ushers were Donald Peiffer of Des Moines and Robert Fear of Sigourney. Jenny Webb was flower girl.
A reception of 150 guests was given in the Memorial hall. After a brief wedding trip, the couple will live on a farm southwest of Sigourney. The bride has been employed in the law office of Frank M. Bently.
