    • OBITUARY

      Drew P. Hammes, 50, died Sat., Sept. 25, 2004 following injuries received in a vehicular accident in rural Davenport.
      He was born April 29, 1954 to Wilfred G. "Willie" and Elizabeth A. (Besser) Hammes. He was a 1972 graduate of Assumption High School. He had worked in the construction trade following high school. He was a manager for Happy Joe's Pizza and Ice Cream Parlor, Tulsa, Okla. Most recently he was employed by APAC of Dubuque.
      He is survived by his father and step-mother, Willie and Joyce Hammes of Bettendorf; two brothers, Wynn and Mark of Davenport; a sister, Amy Hammes of Honolulu, Hawaii; step-sisters, Elizabeth Bayer of St. Louis, Mo., Margaret Lewis of Bettendorf; step-brothers, Charles Roberts of Raleigh, N. C. and Thomas Roberts of Chaska, Minn. and numerous nieces and nephews.
      He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Jeffrey Hammes.
      Funeral services were held Thurs., Sept. 30 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf with private family burial services in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Davenport.
      Memorials can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes School, Assumption High School or a charity of your
      choice.
