    • VOGEL FAMILY REUNION HELD
      The descendants of Frank B. and Catherine Lutz Vogel met for a family reunion on Sunday, Sept. 6 at St. Elizabeth Church Hall in Harper with a catered dinner for 65 family members. The Elizabeth Vogel Dumont family hosted the reunion.
      Since the last reunion two years ago, five family members have died. Frank B. and Catherine Lutz Vogel were the parents of 16 children. The only surviving member is Mary Vogel Dehner of Wenatchee, Wash., who was present. Two current birthdays were celebrated, that of Mary Dehner, who will be 90 years old and Bernice Vogel, who will be 91.

      Mr. and Mrs. Michael Vogel of 3780 W. 78th Street, Chicago, former Sigourney residents, will observe their golden wedding anniversary on December 22 with a High Mass at St. Dennis' church, 8301 St. Louis. A family dinner will be held. A reception will be in the evening at the home of their son, Carl Vogel.

      Michael and Veda Talbot married and lived in Keota, Iowa. They later moved to Chicago, Illinois where Mike worked for the railroad.
    • OBITUARY
      MICHAEL E. VOGEL, age 79, died April 29 in a Chicago hospital. A former Sigourney and Keota resident, he was born April 20, 1887 on a farm south of Talleyrand. He was a son of Frank and Katherine Lutz Vogel. He was married December 23, 1915 to Veda Talbot. They were the parents of three sons, Carl, Virgil and Gerald, who survive.
      Survivors include his wife, Veda; three sons, all of Chicago, 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; four brothers, Frank and Carl of Keota, Lawrence of Kansas City and Joe of Sigourney; six sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Dumont, Mrs. C. P. Hammes, Mrs. Will Allar of Sigourney, Mrs. Henry Hammen of Manson, Katherine Vogel of Iowa City and Mrs. Hugh Dehner of Clinton.
      He was preceded in death by three brothers, Andrew, Jacob and Leo, and two sisters, Amelia, who died in infancy and Regina Vogel.
      Funeral mass was held May 2 at St. Dennis Catholic church in Chicago, with interment at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.
