- VOGEL FAMILY REUNION HELD
The descendants of Frank B. and Catherine Lutz Vogel met for a family reunion on Sunday, Sept. 6 at St. Elizabeth Church Hall in Harper with a catered dinner for 65 family members. The Elizabeth Vogel Dumont family hosted the reunion.
Since the last reunion two years ago, five family members have died. Frank B. and Catherine Lutz Vogel were the parents of 16 children. The only surviving member is Mary Vogel Dehner of Wenatchee, Wash., who was present. Two current birthdays were celebrated, that of Mary Dehner, who will be 90 years old and Bernice Vogel, who will be 91.

- OBITUARY
KATHERINE MARIE VOGEL, age 82, died Tues., July 15 at the Alverno Nursing Home in Clinton. She had been in ill health since suffering a stroke July 5, 1974.
She was born February 25, 1893, near Harper, the daughter of Frank and Katherine Lutz Vogel. For many years she was employed as a seamstress at Younkers Department Store in Iowa City. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Iowa City; a member of Catholic Daughters of America and Legion of Mary.
Surviving are five sisters; Mrs. Peter (Elizabeth) Dumont, Mrs. C. P. (Lena) Hammes, and Mrs. William (Mathilda) Allar of Sigourney; Mrs. Henry (Margaret) Hammen of Manson; and Mrs. Hugh (Mary) Dehner of Clinton; and two brothers; Joe Vogel of Sigourney and Carl Vogel of Keota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Andrew, Jake, Mike, Frank, Leo and Lawrence; and two sisters, Regina Vogel and Amelia in infancy.
Funeral services were held July 17 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sigourney with the Rev. Francis E. Lollich officiating. The interment was in the Ss. Peter and Paul Parish Cemetery at Clear Creek. The rosary was recited at the Reynolds Funeral Chapel Wednesday evening.
The casket bearers were: Herbert Allar, Leonard Dumont, Alvin Vogel, Charles Vogel, Stanley Vogel and Virgil Vogel.
