CP HAMMES REUNION HELD AT ST. MARY'S HALL
The families of the late Constant and Lena Hammes held a reunion at St. Mary's Hall on Sun., June 26 with a potluck dinner. There were 75 present.

COUPLE OBSERVES 65TH ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. Constant Hammes of Sigourney celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Feb. 22 with a home Mass at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Francis E. Lollich officiating. All of their children were present for the day.
Constant Hammes and Lena Vogel were married Feb. 22, 1911 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church in Clear Creek.

- PAUL HAMMESES CELEBRATE 40TH ANNIVERSARY
A celebration honoring Paul and Mariann Hammeses 40th wedding anniversary was held Sat., Apr. 30 at St. Mary's Hall in Keota. Approximately 350 friends and relatives attended. They enjoyed a meal, a "memory program" put on by their children and grandchildren and dancing.
Paul and Marian were married Apr. 5, 1948 at East Pleasant Plain. The event was honored by their six children and seven grandchildren. - OBITUARY
PAUL ZENO STANLEY HAMMES OF KEOTA DIES FEBRUAY 23
Paul Zeno Stanley Hammes, 79, of Keota died February 23, 2000 at the Washington County Hospital.
He was born on November 13, 1920 in Clear Creek Township, rural Harper, the son of Constant and Lena Vogel Hammes. He graduated from Sigourney High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was united in marriage to Marian Adam on April 6, 1948 at Pleasant Plain. He lived in the Keota area all of his life. He owned and operated Hammes Oil Company for 44 years before retiring in 1991. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, and a member of the Keota V.F.W., Lions Club and Community Club.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Connie Weber of Iowa City, Bonnie Laux of Chandler, Arizona and Christy Lyle of Keota; three sons, Randy of Gilbert, Arizona, Terry of Lafayette, Louisiana and Dan of Newhall; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sister, Marcella Schneider of Tiffin, Kathryn Krier of Ollie and Mary Webb of Sigourney; three brothers, Norbert of Fairfield, Charles of Cedar Rapids and Robert of Delta.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Orville; and infant brother and an infant sister.
Services were held on February 26 at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota with the Rev. Timothy Regan officiating. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established for Parkinsons Disease research and Maplewood Manor.
