- OBITUARY
Julia attended school at Newark and lived in the Keota-Sigourney Iowa area all of her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sigourney and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She had been employed at Ross Electronics in Washington and at the University of Hospital in Iowa City. She had retired in 1995 from the Louis Rich plant in Sigourney.

Julia A. Hammes
Julia A. Hammes,69, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, in Keokuk County Health Center after an extended illness. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, St. Mary Catholic Church, by Father Philip Ryan. Burial: Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Holm Funeral Home, Sigourney, and after 6 p.m. today at the church, where a prayer service begins at 7 p.m.
Survivors include her husband, Bud; 12 children: Twyla Morlan and Linda Patterson, both of Oxford, Shirley Harberts of Newport News, Va., Sharon Hammes of Iowa City, Bonnie Norman of Knoxville, Tenn., Joan Seip, Joyce Pfannebecker, Mike Michael Hammes and Sandy Steinhart, all of Sigourney, Barb Peiffer of Durant, Richard Hammes of Elizabeth, Colo., and Julia Parcell of Columbia, Mo.; four brothers, George, Bill and Francis Clubb, all of Sigourney, and Ray Clubb of Keswick; and three sisters, Gertrude Gibson and Janice Middlekauff, both of Williamsburg, and Mildred Mather of Sigourney.
