Virginia M. Vogel, 80 of Washington, died Sunday April 29, 2006 at her residence following a short illness.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 am Wednesday May 10, 2006 at the St. James Catholic Church in Washington with Fr. Ed O’Melia officiating. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery. Virginia was born on July 25, 1925 in Keota, Iowa the daughter of Leo R. and Magdalena (Peiffer) Vogel. Virginia graduated from Keota High School in 1943 and later attended Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant and the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Virginia moved to Des Moines where she did office work for Wright Tree Service. She later moved to Great Falls, Montana and worked at Malstrom Strategic Air Command until her retirement in 2003. Virginia moved to Washington in 2004.
Virginia is survived by her brother, Don Vogel and wife Marlene of Washington, Iowa; sister, Helen Brady of Coralville, Iowa; sister, Joan Pease of Fort Collins, Colorado; 6 nieces and nephews; and 10 great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 brothers-in-law, Robert Brady and James Pease.
