- OBITUARY
Marguerite “Marge” Heisdorffer, 67, of rural Keota, died Sunday, November 5, 2000 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.
She was born November 6, 1932 in Davis County to Arthur and Bessie McNabb Post. She grew up in the Bloomfield and Ottumwa areas and received her education in Ottumwa schools. She married William Dean Heisdorffer on January 7, 1961 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper. Following marriage the couple lived in rural Keota where she worked as a housekeeper for Vera Barnhart. She was member of the Holy Trinity Parish - Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Altar and Rosary Society.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Nicholas of Keota and Bernard of Iowa City; a grandmother; two brothers, Alvin Post of Bloomfield and Carl Post of Ottumwa; two sisters, Carolyn Harper of Hampton and Judith Allen of Manning, South Carolina; parents-in-law, William and Viola Heisdorffer of Harper; brother-in-law, Michael A. Heidorffer of Harper; sisters-in-law, Barbara Knowless of Lisbon and Susan Feuss of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Anna Bailey, Norma Jean Simmer and Margaret Post; and a brother, Max Post.
Memorial mass will be held Saturday, November 11, at the Holy Trinity Parish - Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clear Creek with the Rev. Timothy Regan officiating. Burial will follow at the Ss. Peter
and Paul Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Maplewood Manor or American Diabetes Foundation.
Powell Funeral Home in Keota is in charge of arrangements.
